ARTS ALLIANCE MEDIA TO BE INTERNATIONAL
CONTENT AGGREGATOR FOR HP VIDEO
MERCHANT SERVICES
LONDON, 2 July 2007 – Arts Alliance Media (AAM), Europe’s leading provider of digital film distribution services, announced today an agreement to provide International content for HP’s recently launched Video Merchant Services business. The deal will enable HP to offer its distribution partners access to films from around the world, most never before available in North America.
"HP has pulled together a great team in the entertainment services space and is really pushing the edge of the envelope in the U.S., offering a complete end-to-end multi-format/multi-channel service for retailers which will change the face of internet distribution,” said Howard Kiedaisch, Chief Executive Officer, Arts Alliance Media. “The content we deliver from our international partners will be given an exciting opportunity to reach new customers.”
HP Video Merchant Services powers online video web stores and provides content fulfilment services for retailers, just as HP’s Snapfish business powers online photo services for major retailers around the globe. Additionally, HP Video Merchant Services enables retailers to seamlessly merchandise broad and deep video catalogs across a variety of digital and physical formats, including electronic downloads and DVD discs produced on-demand. HP launched a beta version of the service with their first retail customer in February 2007, providing merchandising and download of thousands of movies and TV titles.
“Arts Alliance Media’s strong relationships with European content owners moves us another step forward in realizing HP’s vision for delivering not only compelling, but diverse content to U.S. customers and eventually the rest of the world,” said Willem de Zoete, vice president and general manager, Digital Entertainment Services, HP.
For European Download-to-Rent and Download-to-Own services, AAM has digital distribution agreements with Universal Pictures, Sony, Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox, Momentum, Icon, Fremantle, Tartan, Discovery Networks, Revolver Entertainment, amongst others.
