ARTS ALLIANCE MEDIA NAMED ONE OF EUROPE's

TOP 50 MOST INNOVATIVE COMPANIES,

ACCORDING TO CNBC EUROPEAN BUSINESS REPORT

 

LONDON,  27th February, 2007 –  Arts Alliance Media (AAM), Europe’s leading provider of digital film distribution services,  has been recognised in CNBC’s European Business magazine’s Innovation issue as one of the top 50 innovators in Europe. Five companies from across Europe were selected in the Media and Entertainment category – alongside Arts Alliance Media were BSkyB, France Telecom, Bebo and Constantin. A variety of experts from each sector contributed to the list.

Since its inception in June 2003, AAM has grown to be the UKs largest digital cinema operator. In early 2005, AAM won a competitive bid to install and operate the 240 screens of the UK Film Council’s Digital Screen Network (DSN) – all of which will be operating by May this year. Films played on the network have included The Chronicles of Narnia, Touching the Void, Chicken Little (in both 2D and 3D), The Wild, Hard Candy, Good Night, and Good Luck,  London to Brighton,  Casablanca, Over The Hedgeand Dirty Dancing. Nearly 100 titles have been handled by AAM to date. The company was also recently selected by Odeon to participate in its digital cinema trial by integrating all screens at the Odeon Surrey Quays multiplex . This is the UK’s first commercial digital cinema installation.

Arts Alliance Media is also leading the way in Digital Home (Download to Rent and Download to Own) services in Europe. As a content aggregator and technology supplier, AAM’s Vizumi Network provides complete solutions for partners to provide download services on their own websites. The digital content library currently carries content from Universal, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Artificial Eye, Momentum, Icon, and Tartan, amongst others. As at today, 1664 titles are available to either rent or to own, and Vizumi is powering downloads on LOVEFiLM (Europe’s leading online DVD rental service), AOL.co.uk,  and selected Emap titles, including Empire (the UKs leading movie magazine). New content and distribution partners are being announced regularly, and the most up to date list can be seen at www.vizumi.com.
