Paramount, Arts Alliance sign pact
Studio to supply digital prints for European network
By Leo Barraclough
LONDON — Paramount Pictures Intl. has inked a pact with Arts Alliance Media to supply its pics in digital format to theaters across Europe.
Arts Alliance signed similar non-exclusive virtual print fee deals with Fox and Universal in June.
Move will help realize the company's ambition to rollout DCI compliant digital projection systems to 7,000 screens across Europe in the next few years. Howard Kiedaisch, AAM’s chief executive officer, said, “Gaining the support of PPI enables AAM to take our exhibitor discussions to the next level and kick-off widespread digital cinema rollout across Europe.”
Andrew Cripps, PPI’s president, said, “This is a real step-change in the international arena, which will only accelerate as 3-D product becomes more commonplace.”
