Digital Cinema - European Installations

In addition to its European Head Office in London, AAM also has an office in Paris, which is the headquarters of the company’s digital cinema operations for Southern Europe. The office covers territories including France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, and supports AAM’s European-wide commercial digital cinema rollout.

Gwendal Auffret leads the operations of the French base. Auffret and his team work to coordinate installation and operation of DCI-compliant digital cinema equipment in cinemas across Southern Europe, as well as negotiating with distributors and exhibitors across the region. The base provides local support and expertise for AAM’s planned future growth and expansion of operations, following the agreement of Virtual Print Fee (VPF) deals with studios and exhibitors. The first exhibitor deal was signed in November 2007, with Circuit Georges Raymond, following studio deals signed in 2007/2008 with Fox, Universal, Paramount, Sony and Disney.

The first phase of the 400 screen CGR Rollout is underway - the first all-digital multiplex in France was installed in Spring 2008, and so far over 300 digital screens have been installed in France, with screens also installed in Norway, Spain, and in independent cinemas across The Netherlands as a result of the deal between AAM and the Amsterdam Booking Company.
